Rutter was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2015 New Year Honours for services to drama.
Rutter founded Northern Broadsides in 1992, and the company continues to perform both at its Halifax base and on tour. He continues to play major parts in many of its productions.
Travis Preston directs theatre and opera throughout the world. He is Artistic Director of the Center for New Performance at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). His theatre work in the US includes the world premieres of Democracy in America and Terra Nova at the Yale Repertory Theater and the American premieres of Koltes’ Roberto Zucco and Buero Vallejo’s Sleep of Reason. His theatre work in the UK includes The Master Builder at the Almeida with Stephen Dillane and Gemma Arterton.
Pieter has directed theatre and radio in London and around the UK. He is the Resident Education Practitioner at Shakespeare’s Globe and directing performance for the Globe stage with Rutgers University students.
Richard has directed productions with Guildford Shakespeare Company. He is also a Teaching Fellow in Theatre at Guildford School of Acting.
